People involved with eBay are supposed to be living the high life in the month of December. After all, with the greatly increased sales due to the holiday season, what could possibly go wrong? Plenty, if you are involved with two eBay related companies.
Two companies have just announced that they are ceasing operation as of the end of December.
AuctionBytes is reporting that the eBay drop-off store franchise QuickDrop is ceasing operation at the end of the month, though those that own QuickDrop franchises can still use the QuickDrop name.
AuctionBytes is also reporting that the payment service BidPay is ceasing operation as of the end of the month. This is particularly troubling to those eBay sellers that refuse to take PayPal, as BidPay was one of the very limited number of eBay permitted payment services.
The above bad news comes at a time when most eBay sellers are incredibly busy with their end-of-the-year holiday sales. Having one more (large) thing to worry about is not what eBay sellers need right now!
Unfortunately, bad news can never come at a good time. It could just come at a time when we are not so busy!
