Suggested Reading for 11 January 2008

January 11, 2008

Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend! Now that the first full week of the New Year is behind us, we can settle into the second weekend of 2008. In this post, you will find some light reading about eBay that will get you through this weekend. Enjoy!

Here are the selections for this week:

  • Tamebay is reporting that eBay UK has stated that they will soon be releasing a way to monitor your Detailed Sellers Rating. The ability to quickly monitor your Detailed Sellers Rating will be essential as eBay makes them more of the process of how search results are displayed. Most likely eBay will be bringing a similar tool to eBay US in the near future.
  • AuctionBytes just released the results of their online buying survey that they conducted in December. Part I and Part II of the survey explain the online shopping habits of 900 people who participated in the survey. It is interesting that while 83% of the respondents sell online, the results between those that do sell online and those that don’t aren’t that different. Part II does outline the differences that do exist.
  • Scot Wingo of ChannelAdvisor talks about how it is a great idea to have your products in Google Product Search. In a fairly recent post, we highly recommended that you use Google Base to advertise your eBay listings in Google Product Search. Maybe we were onto something!
  • Scot Wingo also has an interesting piece about eBay being acquired by Yahoo. Regardless if this is fact or fiction, it certainly makes you scratch your head and think of the possibilities!

That is it for this week. Have a great and productive weekend making money on eBay and we will have more great posts for you starting Monday!
