eBay Introduces Advanced FAQs for Those Selling on eBay
January 21, 2008eBay has just announced the availability of a new tool to make it easier for you to make money on eBay. Now available is a featured called Advanced FAQs for those sellers that are looking for another way to cut down on the amount of buyer emails they receive.
We previously wrote about how to answer your customer’s questions before they are asked and the importance of utilizing the basic FAQ functionality that eBay offers eBay Store owners. This new Advanced FAQs really brings another dimension to being able to anticipate and answer your customer’s questions before you receive an email that you need to personally handle.
The good news is that with the new Advanced FAQs, you will have the ability to greatly expand your ability to answer a buyer’s questions before they fire off an email to you. Advanced FAQs does this by providing you the ability to have a FAQ search box in each of your listings, as well as on the Ask a Seller page.
The bad news is that you are required to pay a monthly subscription to utilize these services, which are hosted by third-parties. Two companies offer the Advanced FAQ feature, Parature and Hosted Support.
Parature does not make it easy to find out any pricing information or any information about the Advanced FAQs feature at all. This is not a good way to get customers! We actually became frustrated with their site before we could find any details. Yes, we used the search box.
Hosted Support, however, makes it incredibly easy to find out about their product they are calling ezSupport for eBay. This product will cost you $19.95 per month. However, they are currently running a special where the next 1000 eBay sellers who sign up will receive ezSupport for eBay FREE for the life of their account. This is a great deal for those who could use Advanced FAQs!
Because the new Advanced FAQs feature on eBay is a subscription service, it probably will only cater to the higher volume eBay seller – somebody who has making money on eBay down to a science and understands the value of automation.
Or, it might appeal to an eBay seller that receives a high volume of easy to answer emails. By using Advanced FAQs, you can take the steps to limit the amount of emails you will need to personally deal with, thus allowing you to spend more time making money on eBay.
As you continue on your quest to perfecting how to sell on eBay, any tool that will make your job easier is one that is worth your time to investigate.
