The Benefits of Opening an eBay Store
December 4, 2007As an eBay Seller, you have all sorts of tools at your disposal to aid you in selling online. Arguably, one of the most important tools is an eBay Store. Opening one gives you the ability to list a large number of items on eBay while only paying a nominal listing fee. Having a store will give you greater control over your listings and allow you to fine-tune your eBay strategy.
eBay Stores come in three flavors – Basic Store, Premium Store and Anchor Store. Monthly subscriptions range from $15.95 for a Basic Store to $299.95 for an Anchor Store. For the vast majority of eBay Sellers, a Basic Store is all that you will ever need.
With any level of eBay subscription, you get some cool tools:
- Markdown Manager lets you create sales on your listings.
- Accounting Assistant allows you to very easily export your eBay transactions and PayPal transactions (associated to eBay transactions) into QuickBooks.
- Selling Manager allows you greater management of your eBay sales.
- Picture Manager allows you to host your images on eBay’s servers.
- Email Marketing allows you to build an email/newsletter list and send out emails promoting your listings.
With an eBay Store, you can also take advantage of the generous Store Referral Credit. With Store Referral Credit, eBay will give you a 75% credit on your Final Value Fees when your marketing efforts generate sales of your Store Inventory format listings.
With an eBay Store, you can (and should) modify the appearance to make your store a unique representation of your company’s online presence. You can even go all out and hire a professional to design a truly unique eBay Store for you.
With an eBay Store, you can utilize the strategy of having the majority of your products as store listings and drive traffic to them using auctions for a selection of your products. The best way to do this is by stating in the individual auction listings to see your eBay Store for a wider selection of items. This will save you having to list all twenty styles of your widgets as auctions, greatly reducing your eBay listing fees.
If you are going to be a serious eBay seller, then you really need to have an eBay Store. To find out more information about opening an eBay Store, please click here.
